This 4-bedroom country house originally built in 1985 and completely renovated in 2005 is set in a secluded spot in arguably the most idyllic rural valley near the Andalucian white village of Casares, just 10 minutes drive inland from Spain’s Costa del Sol.

Ahead, the patio leads to a covered porch under which you find the solid wooden front door of the main house.

Just beyond that, a delightful square courtyard is situated next to the kitchen – ideal for a spot of rural ‘al fresco’ dining.

From this courtyard, a pathway takes you on past the kitchen along the north-facing side of the house – which, incidentally, offers fabulous views of the surrounding mountain range – to a much larger terrace with its own dining area and from there to the south-west facing garden.

With a manageable expanse of lawn bordered by pine trees and sub-tropical plants, the garden leads to the property’s heated swimming pool, which features a wide terracotta tiled sun deck.

And so to the interior of the house, which can be accessed either from the main front door, a kitchen side door and no less than 6 separate patio doors in the living room and ground floor bedrooms.

Stepping inside via the kitchen door, I found a generously proportioned, typically rural kitchen with terracotta floors, rustic style units, granite work surfaces, high-quality appliances and patio door access out to the main covered terrace in the garden.

A set of double doors took me through from the kitchen to the spacious living/dining room which comes replete with dark wood parquet flooring, a high wooden-beamed ceiling, a sizeable fireplace and 3 sets of patio doors out to the main terrace and garden.

From here, a corridor guided me down past a guest W.C., to 2 of the property’s 4 bedrooms, the first of which is currently in use as an office space.

Both these rooms feature cream carpets and have patio door access out to the garden and pool areas.

A carpeted staircase leads up to the first floor master bedroom suite, which is also carpeted and boasts an en suite bathroom and via a delightful archway feature, a vast walk-in dressing room with stylish fitted-wardrobes.
