Country estate for sale Ronda
If you’re looking for a country estate for sale in Ronda that would be ideal as a rural hotel, for wine producing and for keeping horses – or all three – then this vast 860.000m2 estate for sale at 1.1M Euros is probably the property deal of the century so far.

Ronda is located high up in the mountains some 40-minutes drive north from Marbella on Spain’s Costa del Sol and it’s one of the oldest towns in the whole of Spain.
It’s a place where culture, history, Spanish romanticism and architectural ‘eye-candy’ conspire to create a unique atmosphere at every turn.
Unsurprisingly given its rich heritage, Ronda’s been the inspiration for some of the world’s foremost artists and writers from Orson Welles to Ernest Hemingway and to this day remains a ‘must-see’ attraction for those visiting Andalucia in need of an injection of authentic Spanish culture.
As anyone from Ronda will proudly tell you, the town is famous for two things; bullfighting and the spectacular and very deep El Tajo Gorge which effectively cuts the town in two.
But Ronda isn’t just all about splendid architecture, bullfighting and a gigantic gorge. It’s also surrounded by some of the most stunning countryside you’re ever likely to see.
And it’s in these outlying areas where you can find some true property bargains – idyllic country houses and large country estates for sale at surprisingly affordable prices.
Last week, for example, I listed the vast 860.000m2 country estate pictured above which would make the ideal location for a rural hotel or indeed private estate and is on the market for just 1.1M Euros: without a shadown of a doubt one of the best rural property deals on the market today.
There’s a 150 year-old traditional-style Spanish Cortijo house on the estate, from which the views south across the Ronda valley over the neighbouring fields and the rooftops of nearby villages to Ronda itself are almost worth the buying price of the estate itself, as they are simply awe inspiring.
Despite having fallen in to considerable disrepair over the years, the house can be completely renovated either as a private residence or as a rural hotel with equestrian instalations (in which case the total built area of the existing buildings could be increased significantly).
The land on the estate features a forest of oak trees and wild olives, with trails and tracks running through them ideal for hiking or riding horses.
The land is also ideal for wine production. Although it is not currently used as such, the geography and location of some parts of the estate actually makes for ideal vineyard territory.
In actual fact, the Ronda area is about to be officially designated as a key Spanish wine producing area (‘Denominación de Origen’) with many well-established and highly respected wine producing estates already producing great quality wine in the immediate vicinity.
And all of this just 10-minutes by car from the centre of Ronda and all its services and amenities.
